Installation at the WUNDERKAMMER Stuttgart
Two identical lighted boxes, each with a transparent front and back,
refer to (and enhance) the illusionism of the specific location
– a small box-like shop with a mirror-covered back wall.
On both the fronts and backs of the lighted boxes, a body seems to
float suspended between the sky and the water.
On the one side the diver seems to arch up towards the sky, on the
other to plunge towards the water.
The mirror-covered back wall multiplies the bodies visible; as the
day wanes more and more mirror „levels“ –
according to the principle of the „regressus ad
infinitum“ – appear as the windowpane separating the
WUNDERKAMMER from the street acts as another mirror.
